We have two MSc graduate student opportunities at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario, Canada for September 2020. Applications for admission will be considered until the positions are filled.
Research projects will focus on investigating the impacts of climate change on groundwater and streamflow in Precambrian Shield watersheds in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks. These projects will allow students to develop critical technical skills relevant across sectors of industry, environmental consulting, government and academia. Specific topics include:
- Mapping groundwater-surface water interactions using stable isotope synoptic surveys.
- Analyzing high frequency time series of streamflow, groundwater levels and weather conditions.
- Conducting a water balance of a reference Precambrian Shield watershed.

A background in hydrology, earth sciences, environmental sciences, and related fields are preferable. Experience with programming in R is also an asset.
