On Friday, Sept 30th, IWRC members and friends gathered on Callander Bay, Lake Nipissing to christen IWRC’s new research vessel, the ‘Merry Weather II’, a name we thought ‘nautical, optimistic and playful’. The cork popped with lots of fanfare, tshirts and cake. Thank you to all that attended and those who sent their best wishes.
Special thanks to Nipissing University, the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the Canada Research Chair program for funding support. Special thanks also goes to the colleagues at the Dorset Environmental Science Centre- Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority for ongoing research collaboration and Harper’s Marina in Callander Bay for logistical support.
