Yesterday morning, Monday 19 September, we had a great crew on board to retrieve the data buoy near the Manitou Islands for the season. Winds were 4-8 kts and the research vessel (name yet to be decided!) was in great shape. It was a dirty job (see photos!) – but great fun! Crew included Dan Walters, April James and 4th year undergraduate student Kyle Wittmaier all from the Department of Geography and expert seaman Jeff Scott from the Schulich School of Education. Not in photo, Paul Smylie, from the Department of Biology also provided practical boat driver training! What a fantastic morning on the water.
